General information

The following information provides a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit this website. Personal data is any data by which you can be personally identified. Detailed information on data protection can be found in our privacy policy set out below this text.

Data collection on this website

Who is responsible for data collection on this website?

Data processing on this website is carried out by the website operator, snoopstar GmbH. You will find the contact details in the section “Information on the controller” in this privacy policy and in the legal notice.

How do we collect your data?

On the one hand, your data is collected when you provide it to us. This may, for example, be data that you enter in our contact form. Other data is collected automatically by our host’s IT systems when you visit the website. This is mainly technical data (e.g. web browser, operating system or time of the page request). This data is collected automatically as soon as you enter this website.

What do we use your data for?

Part of the data is collected to ensure that the website is provided without errors and securely. We use the information from the contact form exclusively to process your enquiry.

What rights do you have regarding your data?

You have the right at any time to receive information free of charge about the origin, recipients and purpose of your stored personal data. You also have the right to request the rectification or erasure of this data. You can contact us at any time about this and any other questions on data protection. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. In addition, under certain circumstances you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. For details, see the privacy policy under “Right to restriction of processing”.

Analytics tools, tracking and cookies

We do not use any analytics or tracking tools on this website and do not store any cookies on your device. Fonts, scripts, images and videos are loaded exclusively from our own server; no data is transferred to third-party providers when you visit the website.

2. Hosting

External hosting

This website is hosted by an external service provider (host). The provider is:

The personal data collected on this website is stored on the host’s servers. This may include, in particular, IP addresses, contact requests, meta and communication data, website access data and other data generated via a website. The enquiries from our contact form are also transmitted by email via the host’s servers.

The host is used for the purpose of fulfilling contracts with our potential and existing customers (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and in the interest of a secure, fast and efficient provision of our online services by a professional provider (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Our host will only process your data to the extent necessary to fulfil its service obligations and will follow our instructions with regard to this data.

Data processing agreement

We have concluded a data processing agreement (DPA) for the use of the above-mentioned service. This is a contract required by data protection law which ensures that the provider processes the personal data of our website visitors only in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.

3. General information and mandatory information

Data protection

The operators of these pages take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.

When you use this website, various personal data is collected. Personal data is data by which you can be personally identified. This privacy policy explains what data we collect and what we use it for. It also explains how and for what purpose this is done.

Please note that data transmission over the internet (e.g. when communicating by email) may have security gaps. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.

Information on the controller

The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:

snoopstar GmbH
represented by the managing directors Klaus Finken and Chris Finken
In der Steele 11
40599 Düsseldorf
Germany

Phone: +49 211 74849-120
Email: contact@snoopstar.com

The controller is the natural or legal person who, alone or jointly with others, decides on the purposes and means of processing personal data (e.g. names, email addresses or similar).

Storage period

Unless a more specific storage period is stated in this privacy policy, your personal data will remain with us until the purpose for the data processing no longer applies. If you assert a justified request for erasure or withdraw your consent to data processing, your data will be erased unless we have other legally permissible reasons for storing your personal data (e.g. retention periods under tax or commercial law); in the latter case, the data will be erased once these reasons cease to apply.

General information on the legal bases for data processing

If you have consented to data processing, we process your personal data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. If your data is required to perform a contract or to take steps prior to entering into a contract, we process your data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Furthermore, we process your data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR if this is necessary to fulfil a legal obligation. Data processing may also be carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legal bases relevant in each individual case are set out in the following paragraphs of this privacy policy.

Recipients of personal data

We only pass on personal data to external bodies if this is necessary to perform a contract, if we are legally obliged to do so, if we have a legitimate interest in the disclosure pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or if another legal basis permits the disclosure. When using processors (here: our host and Microsoft as the provider of our email mailboxes), we only pass on personal data on the basis of a valid data processing agreement.

Data protection officer required by law

The controller’s data protection officer is:

Dorothee Bührig
snoopstar GmbH
In der Steele 11
40599 Düsseldorf
Germany

Phone: +49 211 74849-0
Email: datenschutzbeauftragte@snoopstar.com

Withdrawal of your consent to data processing

Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You can withdraw consent you have already given at any time. An informal message to us by email is sufficient. The lawfulness of the data processing carried out until the withdrawal remains unaffected by the withdrawal.

Right to object to data collection in special cases and to direct marketing (Art. 21 GDPR)

IF THE DATA PROCESSING IS BASED ON ART. 6(1)(E) OR (F) GDPR, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT AT ANY TIME TO OBJECT TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA ON GROUNDS RELATING TO YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING BASED ON THESE PROVISIONS. THE RESPECTIVE LEGAL BASIS ON WHICH PROCESSING IS BASED CAN BE FOUND IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU OBJECT, WE WILL NO LONGER PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA CONCERNED UNLESS WE CAN DEMONSTRATE COMPELLING LEGITIMATE GROUNDS FOR THE PROCESSING WHICH OVERRIDE YOUR INTERESTS, RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS, OR THE PROCESSING SERVES THE ESTABLISHMENT, EXERCISE OR DEFENCE OF LEGAL CLAIMS (OBJECTION PURSUANT TO ART. 21(1) GDPR).

IF YOUR PERSONAL DATA IS PROCESSED FOR THE PURPOSE OF DIRECT MARKETING, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT AT ANY TIME TO THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA CONCERNING YOU FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUCH MARKETING; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING INSOFAR AS IT IS RELATED TO SUCH DIRECT MARKETING. IF YOU OBJECT, YOUR PERSONAL DATA WILL SUBSEQUENTLY NO LONGER BE USED FOR THE PURPOSE OF DIRECT MARKETING (OBJECTION PURSUANT TO ART. 21(2) GDPR).

Right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority

In the event of breaches of the GDPR, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of their habitual residence, their place of work or the place of the alleged breach. The right to lodge a complaint is without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedies. The supervisory authority responsible for us is:

Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen (LDI NRW)
(State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia)
Kavalleriestraße 2–4
40213 Düsseldorf
Germany

Right to data portability

You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in performance of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only be done insofar as it is technically feasible.

SSL/TLS encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as enquiries that you send to us as the site operator, this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the browser’s address bar changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the padlock symbol in your browser bar. If SSL/TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Information, erasure and rectification

Within the framework of the applicable legal provisions, you have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the data processing and, if applicable, a right to rectification or erasure of this data. You can contact us at any time about this and any other questions on the subject of personal data.

Right to restriction of processing

You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. You can contact us about this at any time. The right to restriction of processing exists in the following cases:

  • If you dispute the accuracy of your personal data stored by us, we usually need time to verify this. For the duration of the verification, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
  • If the processing of your personal data was/is unlawful, you can request the restriction of data processing instead of erasure.
  • If we no longer need your personal data, but you need it to exercise, defend or assert legal claims, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data instead of erasure.
  • If you have lodged an objection pursuant to Art. 21(1) GDPR, your interests and ours must be weighed against each other. As long as it has not yet been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.

If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, this data – apart from its storage – may only be processed with your consent or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or a member state.

Objection to advertising emails

We hereby object to the use of contact data published as part of our legal notice obligation for sending advertising and information material that has not been expressly requested. The operators of these pages expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of unsolicited advertising information being sent, for example by spam emails.

4. Data collection on this website

No cookies and no storage on your device

This website does not use cookies or comparable technologies (e.g. local storage, session storage or device fingerprinting). No information is stored on or read from your device that is not strictly necessary to technically provide the page you have requested (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG, German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act). A consent request (“cookie banner”) is therefore not required.

Should we use services in the future that use cookies or comparable technologies, we will obtain your consent in advance in accordance with § 25(1) TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and update this privacy policy.

Server log files

The host of these pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:

  • browser type and browser version
  • operating system used
  • referrer URL
  • host name of the accessing computer
  • time of the server request
  • IP address

This data is not merged with other data sources. The log files are only stored for a limited period and then deleted automatically.

This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and the security of its website – for this purpose, the server log files must be recorded.

Contact form

If you send us enquiries via the contact form, your details from the enquiry form (name, email address, message and, optionally, company, phone number and subject), including the contact details you provide there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in case of follow-up questions. For this purpose, the enquiry is transmitted as an email via our host’s servers to our mailboxes at Microsoft 365 (see “Email mailboxes (Microsoft 365)”). We do not pass on this data without your consent.

To protect against abusive, automated use (spam), we store a non-reversible hash of your IP address for a maximum of one hour in order to limit the number of enquiries per sender. In addition, we check how much time has passed between loading the page and submitting the form. No cookies are set and no third-party services are integrated for this purpose. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a functioning contact form that is protected against misuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

The form data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary to take steps prior to entering into a contract. In all other cases, the processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective processing of the enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

The data you enter in the contact form will remain with us until you ask us to erase it, withdraw your consent to its storage or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after your enquiry has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.

Email mailboxes (Microsoft 365)

We operate our email mailboxes with Microsoft 365. Enquiries that you send us via the contact form or by email are therefore stored and processed on Microsoft servers. The provider is Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland.

A data processing agreement (Data Protection Addendum) is in place with Microsoft. A transfer of personal data to the USA cannot be ruled out; Microsoft Corporation is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF). The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure and reliable email communication (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR insofar as your enquiry relates to a contract. Further information: https://privacy.microsoft.com/en-gb/privacystatement

Enquiries by email or phone

If you contact us by email or phone, your enquiry, including all resulting personal data (name, enquiry), will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your request. We do not pass on this data without your consent.

This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary to take steps prior to entering into a contract. In all other cases, the processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective processing of the enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

The data you send us via contact enquiries will remain with us until you ask us to erase it, withdraw your consent to its storage or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after your request has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular statutory retention periods – remain unaffected.

5. Fonts, media and external links

Locally hosted fonts

For uniform presentation, this website uses the fonts Sora, Inter Tight and IBM Plex Mono. The fonts are installed locally on our server. No connection to servers of Google or other providers is established.

Videos, images and scripts

Videos, images and program libraries (e.g. for animations) are delivered exclusively from our own server. No video platforms (such as YouTube or Vimeo), no content delivery networks and no third-party spam detection services are integrated.

Links to app stores and external websites

Our website contains simple links to external services, e.g. to the snoop it! app in the Apple App Store and on Google Play and to our social media profiles. Only when you click on such a link will you be forwarded to the respective provider; from then on, its privacy policy applies. No data is transferred to these providers beforehand.

6. Our social media presences

Data processing by social networks

We maintain publicly accessible profiles on social networks. No social media plugins are integrated on this website; we merely link to our profiles. The individual social networks we use are listed below.

Social networks such as Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn can generally analyse your user behaviour comprehensively when you visit their website. Visiting our social media presences triggers numerous processing operations relevant to data protection. In detail:

If you are logged into your social media account and visit our social media presence, the operator of the social media portal can assign this visit to your user account. Under certain circumstances, however, your personal data may also be collected if you are not logged in or do not have an account with the respective social media portal. In this case, the data is collected, for example, via cookies stored on your device or by recording your IP address.

With the help of the data collected in this way, the operators of the social media portals can create user profiles in which your preferences and interests are stored. This allows interest-based advertising to be displayed to you inside and outside the respective social media presence. If you have an account with the respective social network, interest-based advertising can be displayed on all devices on which you are or were logged in.

Please also note that we cannot trace all processing operations on the social media portals. Depending on the provider, further processing operations may therefore be carried out by the operators of the social media portals. For details, please refer to the terms of use and privacy policies of the respective social media portals.

Legal basis

Our social media presences are intended to ensure the broadest possible presence on the internet. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The analysis processes initiated by the social networks may be based on different legal bases, which are to be specified by the operators of the social networks (e.g. consent within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Controller and assertion of rights

If you visit one of our social media presences (e.g. Facebook), we are jointly responsible with the operator of the social media platform for the data processing operations triggered during this visit. You can in principle assert your rights (information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and complaint) both against us and against the operator of the respective social media portal (e.g. against Facebook).

Please note that despite the joint responsibility with the social media portal operators, we do not have full influence on the data processing operations of the social media portals. Our options depend largely on the corporate policy of the respective provider.

Storage period

The data collected directly by us via the social media presence will be deleted from our systems as soon as you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent to its storage or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies. Stored cookies remain on your device until you delete them. Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.

We have no influence on the storage period of your data that is stored by the operators of the social networks for their own purposes. For details, please contact the operators of the social networks directly (e.g. in their privacy policy, see below).

Data transfer to third countries

Some of the providers listed below or their group companies are based in the USA. Data may be transferred there. The data transfer to the USA is based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF) if the respective company is certified under it; otherwise on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission.
